Pairs that aren't lasting the week

Jordan 4 Retro "Military Blue" (2024 re-release)

The Military Blue 4s have been the most consistent seller in the shop for months. The original 1989 colourway hit differently this time around, partly because the materials on the retro are closer to the OG than most Jordan Brand re-releases manage. Resale has settled around $280-$320 for deadstock pairs in common sizes. We've moved through four pairs in the last two weeks alone. Size 10 and 10.5 are always the first to go.

New Balance 990v6 (Grey)

New Balance's core grey runner continues its multi-year hot streak. The 990v6 refined the silhouette just enough to feel fresh without alienating the people who have been buying 990s since the v3. Retail is $199, and resale on lightly worn pairs is holding at $160-$180, which is unusual for a shoe you can buy at retail. The demand simply outpaces supply in certain sizes. We price used pairs in VNDS condition at $165.

Nike SB Dunk Low collaborations

SB Dunks have cycled through waves of hype since 2020, and the market has cooled from its pandemic peak, but the right collaboration still moves fast. The recent Jarritos and Powerpuff Girls collabs sold within hours of hitting the shelf. General-release SB Dunks are sitting longer now, which is actually a healthy correction. The pairs worth holding are the ones with a genuine story behind the collaboration, not just a colourway swap.

What we're watching

Resale values are normalising

The pandemic-era sneaker bubble, where almost any limited release doubled in value on day one, has deflated. That's not a bad thing. What it means is that the market is rewarding quality and genuine scarcity again rather than pure hype. Pairs with real design merit and limited production hold value. Mass-produced "limited" releases that Nike and Adidas flood the market with are sitting at or below retail on the secondary market.

For buyers, this is the best sneaker market in years. Pairs that would have been $100 over retail in 2021 are now available at retail or slightly below. For consignors, it means pricing needs to be realistic. We'll always give you an honest assessment of what a pair will sell for on our shelf.

The "quiet luxury" effect on sneakers

The broader fashion move toward understated, minimal design has reached the sneaker market. Clean, single-colour pairs are outselling loud, multi-colour designs by a significant margin. White-on-white Air Force 1s, grey New Balance 990s, and simple colourway Jordan 1 Lows are the bread and butter of the current market. The flashier Travis Scott and Off-White collaborations still command premiums, but the daily-wear market has shifted toward restraint.

Upcoming drops to know about

A few releases on the horizon that we expect to show up on our shelf quickly after dropping:

  • Jordan 1 Retro High "Chicago Reimagined": Any Chicago-adjacent Jordan 1 colourway is guaranteed demand. Expect resale to settle in the $350-$400 range after the initial spike.
  • Adidas Samba OG (new colourways): The Samba has been the breakout silhouette of the last two years. New colourways sell through fast. Resale premiums are small but consistent.
  • New Balance 1906R (Protection Pack): The 1906R has quietly become one of the most sought-after New Balance silhouettes. The Protection Pack colourways in muted tones are expected to move quickly.

What to bring in for consignment right now

If you're sitting on pairs and thinking about consigning, here's what sells fastest on our shelf right now: Jordan 1 Highs and Mids in common sizes (9-12), any New Balance 990 series, Nike SB Dunks with collab packaging, and Yeezy 350s in neutral colourways. Clean pairs in VNDS or DS condition command the best margins. Walk in any day during mall hours and we'll quote you on the spot.
